The day I graduated from Saint Mark’s, I cried. My four years at Saint Mark’s were among the best in my life. During my time as a Spartan, I grew both academically and spiritually. I was pushed by my teachers to challenge myself, to work harder, to be more creative and to problem solve.

Saint Mark’s helped shape my morals, my work ethic and my personality. And now, life has come full circle for my husband, Chris Blum ’86 and me. Our son Chase started as a freshman at Saint Mark’s last year. He was offered academic scholarships to four Catholic high schools. He chose Saint Mark’s for the rigorous curriculum, the wide variety of clubs and sports programs, the impressive AP program, the beautiful campus and, of course, the co-educational experience (A.K.A. the girls).

Chase is happily settled into his life as a Spartan. My husband and I feel like we’ve come home after being away for too long. And our 6th grade daughter is counting down the days until she starts at Saint Mark’s.

As Chase progresses through his academic career, I’m already dreading his graduation day. Something tells me history might repeat itself … I better start stocking up on tissues.
