The 35th Annual Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade

The West Chester Christmas Parade welcomes 6ABC’s Adam Joseph as a master of ceremonies for its 35th year.

Ring in the holiday season with the 2014 MARS Drinks Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade presented by QVC. This 35-year West Chester tradition is guaranteed to supply enough holiday spirit to keep Santa’s sleigh flying high until Christmas Day.

Hosted by the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, the parade is slated for Friday, Dec. 5, at 7:15 p.m., kicking off the Old-Fashioned Christmas Celebration, which runs all weekend. Friday through Sunday, families can enjoy dozens of events—from theatrical and musical performances to guided walking tours, breakfast with Santa, and more.

Returning as masters of ceremonies are 6abc’s Adam Joseph and QVC’s Carolyn Gracie and Dan Hughes. The parade promises to provide an exciting mix of traditional elements with a modern twist. Local schools, businesses, volunteer fire companies and service organizations will join the many marching bands, floats and antique vehicles that are mainstays of the Old-Fashioned Christmas experience. Merchants throughout downtown West Chester will be hosting Holiday Open Houses with seasonal refreshments and entertainment.

The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce is happy to welcome back MARS Drinks, a division of Mars, Inc., as the title sponsor for the sixth consecutive year. “The Chamber is proud to partner with MARS Drinks on this project,” says president Mark Yoder. “Their continued investment in the parade demonstrates their support for the entire West Chester community.”

“MARS Drinks is excited about our continued sponsorship of West Chester’s Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade,” says Magali Tranié, marketing director of Mars Drinks North America. “This is a great opportunity for us to give back to the community through one of the premier events in the area.”

QVC returns as the presenting sponsor and will broadcast live, on-site updates. Highlights will be broadcast periodically on QVC during Christmas Day—so take a break from your Christmas Story marathon and tune in. “One-hundred million homes across the country will have the opportunity to experience the holiday spirit that makes [the event] so special,” says Paul Capelli, QVC’s vice president of Corporate Communications and Community Affairs.
