The 2018 Philadelphia Flower Show Opens this Weekend

Running from March 3-11, the show features a “Wonders of Water” theme.

Since 1829, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society has been dazzling us with its annual Philadelphia Flower Show—and 2018 should be no exception. This year’s event takes place March 3-11, its “Wonders of Water” theme celebrating the seamless and symbiotic relationship between botanicals and H2O.

Waterfalls, a rain curtain and other unique features will transform portions of the Pennsylvania Convention Center into lush jungles and rainforests. “We want to capture all the sensory elements of the rainforest—its fantastic colors, scents and sounds—and demonstrate its unique and vital role in purifying water and sustaining our environment,” says Sam Lemheney, PHS chief of shows and events.

The week will also stress the role of plants as a sustainable way of keeping water clean. A host of environmentalists will come together to demonstrate how this applies to our Delaware River Watershed.
