Life has been good to Joe Walsh—and he’s been good to his fans, in return. Though it’s been a few years since he’s released new music—he debuted Analog Man in 2012, 20 years after his first solo release—he’s still creating music. Throughout his career, Walsh has found success on his own, as well as with the James Gang, Barnstorm and, of course, the Eagles. Luckily for fans, he’s on the road again.
Playing the new Fillmore Philadelphia, Walsh and band will traverse the many phases of his career. Though he admits this tour is far less lavish than anything he’s ever done with the Eagles—more buses than jets—his rambling sense of humor and killer licks will keep the audience entertained for the two-hour set.
Walsh has noted that he plans to dig into the archives as the tour progresses, playing some rarely performed tracks. His Philly stop comes more than halfway through, so expect some surprises. For this tour, he has reunited with longtime studio cohort Joe Vitale, with whom he co-wrote “Pretty Maids All in a Row” for the Eagles. Rounding out the band is Gannin Arnold on guitar, Drew Hester on drums and Tommy Simms on bass.
