Calling all fashionistas! Skirt boutique in Bryn Mawr is hosting a night of cocktails and shopping Thursday, Sept. 17, to benefit the nonprofit organization HelpUsAdopt.org.
A national financial-assistance grant program founded by Main Line native Becky Fawcett and her husband, Kipp, HelpUsAdopt.org provides qualified couples and individuals—regardless of race, religion, marital status or sexual preference—with grants of up to $15,000 toward their adoption expenses.
There’s no charge for the event, but attendees are invited to make a donation at the door. A $50 contribution guarantees a $50 gift card to Skirt, valid on purchases over $100. And anyone who makes a donation of $100 receives a $100 gift card, valid on purchases over $250. The gift cards are valid thru Oct. 18.
And, oh, how much fun you’ll have redeeming those gift cards! Skirt is packed with the latest fall fashions from designers, including Elizabeth and James, Hunter Dixon, Nanette Lepore, Milly, Diane von Furstenberg, Catherine Malandrino and many more.
Also available is the official HelpUsAdopt.org bracelet. Co-designed by Fawcett and Denise Cox (owner of Denise Cox Designs), this chocolate-brown quartz-beaded bracelet is accented with a gold leaf, symbolizing a family tree. The entire purchase price of the bracelet ($35) will be donated directly to the organization.
The event runs 6-8:30 p.m. at 931 Lancaster Ave., Bryn Mawr. To learn more or R.S.V.P. to the event, e-mail Fawcett at becky.fawcett@helpusadopt.org.
