Running Elves Invade West Chester

The sixth annual Jingle Elf Run starts off the 35th annual West Chester Christmas Parade on Friday, Dec. 5.

The sixth annual Jingle Elf Run leads off the Old- Fashioned Christmas Parade with children’s races, a one-mile walk and a two-mile run.

This year’s event will again be sponsored by Environmental Service Concepts (ESC), and all proceeds will benefit FAME Fire Company of West Chester, with FAME volunteers assisting race operations.

Register in advance at www.RunCCRS.com to receive a free jingle-elf hat to wear during the race. Or register in-person after 5:30 p.m. on the day of the event. The race will commence at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 5 at the corner of High and Market streets, and will follow the parade route in front of thousands of spectators. Cash and prizes will be presented to race winners and contestants for Most Creative Holiday Outfit and Best-Dressed Elf.

The volunteer Fame Fire Compa­ny provides fire and rescue services to the Borough of West Chester and surrounding areas. With more than 50 active members logging countless hours training to keep the commu­nity safe, FAME is currently conduct­ing a capital campaign to improve its station house.
