• Haverford School sophomore L.J. Barlow is ranked 14th in the nation among public and private schools by top wrestling website Flowrestling.com. Last season, Haverford’s varsity lacrosse team won the Inter-Ac tournament for the second-straight year, going undefeated. Its varsity tennis team also finished without a loss, plus an Inter-Ac tourney victory.
• Merion Mercy Academy’s crew team sent its first boat to the Henley Women’s Regatta in 2011 and brought home the gold. MMA went back to Henley last season to defend its title, finishing a close second.
• The Shipley School’s varsity girls’ basketball team won its first state championship last season. And the varsity field hockey team continued its domination of the Friends League with another undefeated record.
