• Through a special studies program, sophomores and juniors at the Agnes Irwin School have explored the Galápagos Islands, volunteered for Habitat for Humanity in South Carolina, immersed themselves in the world of finance on Wall Street, and embarked on a study of the classics in Greece.
• Malvern Prep has partnered with three international Augustinian private schools in Panama, Spain and Australia to host student exchanges through its Global Exchange Initiative.
• Devon Prep offers exchange programs with schools in Spain and Germany. But there’s no passport required for its field education program, which involves weeklong trips to places with cultural, historical or scientific significance here in the United States.
• Villa Maria Academy sends up to 35 teens to El Salvador each summer to offer aid in impoverished areas. Locally, Villa Maria’s Children of Mary has students volunteering in various community service projects and events.
• Juniors at Barrack Hebrew Academy have the unique opportunity of studying abroad in Israel for a trimester at Alexander Muss High School, located in the suburbs of Tel Aviv.
• Country Day School of the Sacred Heart is part of a worldwide network of Sacred Heart schools, spanning more than 40 countries. Students in middle and upper school can opt for exchanges with any of the other institutions by studying there or hosting a student here.
