Power Women: Carol Jensen

Twenty-one of the Main Line’s most successful and influential women share their secrets to success.

As chief marketing officer for Wawa, Carol Jensen is embracing her role as a resident guru for the brand at a time when it’s making some serious noise outside our region. “We believe we’re here to serve others,” says Jensen, who started with the company 10 years ago in human resources and risk management, shifting to her current role six years ago. “Our values drive us. It’s both a driven organization and a fun organization. It’s a really interesting dichotomy that I haven’t seen in many other places.”

And when it comes to effective marketing, freshness is key. “We want to delight our customers,” she says. “We’re constantly reinventing what we’re doing.”

This past Mother’s Day, Jensen handed out Wawa-sponsored breakfasts to the participants in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. “We support community nonprofits and [those] working hard for those organizations,” she says. “And that’s a great thing.”
