pets: Max, a nine-year-old male Bernese mountain dog; Annie, a five-year-old female bullmastiff; 80 East Friesian/Lacaune-crossdairy sheep; 30 Rhode Island Red chickens; 30 honeybee hives; and several barn cats. Schaer makes Alpine-style raw-milk sheep cheeses on their farm in Landenberg.
