Life-Changing Skin Care

DermaMed brings a wellness component into skincare industry.

In the crowded world of the skincare industry, there’s always something new hitting the market. This one has a special formula designed to make octogenarians look 25 again; that one has ingredients harvested from the Fountain of Youth. It’s hard to know what to believe.

In such a hyper-competitive environment, the companies that stand out have more to offer than the usual come-ons related to good looks and reversing the signs of aging. “We’re not just about beauty—we’re about wellness,” say DermaMed Solutions’ Mark Pinsley and Ginger Hodulik.

Ah, something different. In their roles as executives at the Lenni-based company, Pinsley and Hodulik combine a variety of techniques for a more holistic experience. Their strive to make their products, equipment and advice go beyond the conventional skin-deep approach.

Pinsley grew up in the tech world and eventually found himself in Tennessee working for ILS, a division of Aviall that helps aviation companies find vendors to provide black boxes for cockpit communications. After purchasing an inventory-management company serving the hospitality industry, he came to DSM, a Dutch manufacturer of vitamin ingredients. When that firm changed direction, he teamed up with Hodulik at DermaMed. “I liked it, because I felt we could bring a wellness component into the skincare
industry,” Pinsley says.

That’s Hodulik’s area of expertise. A certified nutrition specialist, she looks at skincare from more than just a topical perspective. “It’s a reflection of inner health,” she says.

DermaMed works with vendors interested in more than just the basics. “When you can give them the education they need, you can help people change their lives,” says Hodulik.
