Back in October, Doug and Laura Getty welcomed 25 friends to their home in Bryn Mawr. They prepared the three-course dinner themselves, enlisting the help of daughters Julia, Jaimee and Jill to help with service. Appetizers included prosciutto wraps with Gorgonzola, pine nuts and arugula; tuna tartare on crackers; and crab cakes. And for the main course: grilled rosemary lamb chops, beet salad, mashed potatoes, sautéed wild mushrooms and asparagus. Assorted cookies and pastries were served for dessert. “It was a lovely evening with close friends,” says Laura. “Guests embraced the awareness of a community so close and in need, and they responded generously.”
