Doing the Most Good Together

DNB First and the Salvation Army Team up for Kettle Kickoff.

It won’t be long before the familiar sights and sounds of red kettles and ringing bells dominate street corners everywhere. DNB First will sponsor the Salvation Army Band in the 35th annual Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade on Dec. 5. For more than 15 years, DNB First has joined forces with the Salvation Army to distribute Christmas toys to less fortunate families in Chester County.

This year, DNB First will take an even greater role in supporting the Salvation Army’s efforts. In partnership with the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, DNB First will open its West Chester branch (2 N. Church St.) on Small Business Saturday Nov.29, 10 a.m.-noon, to host a Kettle Kickoff. Residents are invited to visit the bank to make donations and show their support of businesses in town.

Shared missions of good citizenship and giving back make DNB First and the Salvation Army natural partners. Since its founding over 150 years ago, DNB First has worked to strengthen local communities by making charitable donations, sponsoring events and supporting business growth. Along with toys at Christmas, the Salvation Army has provided vital emergency assistance to Chester County residents for more than a century.
