December 2013 Restaurant News: Avance Moves Into Le Bec-Fin Space

Established way back in 1743, Brittingham’s Irish Pub & Restaurant of Lafayette Hill had undergone a big-time revamp. Only the historic bar area remains intact. New owners Randy Feinberg and David Eckelmeyer called in former Pub & Kitchen chef Jonathan Adams to consult with executive chef Joseph Frost (Brasserie Perrier) on the new Irish-influenced bar menu. Lemon Hill’s Keith Raimondi retooled the beverage program.

Restaurant Reinvention

Two-star Michelin chef (and Philly native) Justin Bogle introduces Avance this month in the former home of Le Bec-Fin. The menu spotlights progressive American fare crafted with local ingredients and inventive presentations. Two tasting menu options are available, along with an à la carte menu.

David MagermanCasual Kosher

Also this month, David Magerman debuts his second kosher project in Merion Station. The Dairy is headquartered on the same 300 block of Montgomery Avenue as his Citron & Rose, but expect an accessible menu and a more casual vibe.

Pizza Planet

Phoenixville’s acclaimed Vecchia Pizzeria Napoletana is prepping to unleash wood-fired Neapolitan-style pies right next door to the Great American Pub in Wayne. Stay tuned for more details.
