Although the traditional annual re-enactment of George Washington and his troops’ 1776 crossing of the Delaware River is held on Christmas Eve, there will be a dress rehearsal—along with period life and work demonstrations—on Dec. 11. Guided tours of the park and its historic buildings, including a boathouse with replicas of Washington’s crafts and a former private home that served as a medical center for the soldiers, are available throughout the fall. Climb to the top of the 125-foot Bowman’s Hill Tower for some of the best views around. Tours begin at $5; Bowman’s Hill Tower $5.
