Best of West Chester

BYOB Newcomer: Spence 312

West Chester native Andrew Patten is back—and he’s thinking local. His innovative takes on nori-seared Scottish salmon, cioppino, barbecue spice-rubbed pork loin, and sweet-corn arepa are matched only by the kitchen’s expert execution. A worthy follow-up to the beloved Spence Café, Patten’s new eatery—with its burgeoning popularity—has all the earmarks of a classic in its own right.

Benny’s has been a West Chester institution since 1959. Deck-oven baked, the pizza is unpretentious, loaded with classic flavor and sensibly priced. The oldest pizzeria in town is also a great spot for cheesesteaks, stromboli and calzones. The white pie is a must.

Artisan Exchange provides promising new businesses like Flour & Oats, Mojo’s Pop Co. and Goshen Donuts all the space they need to offer fine craft foods and other goods.
