Adoptable Animal of the Week: Louise

This four-year-old Tripawd Shepherd is looking for a home.

About Louise:

Meet Louise, a four-year-old, Tripawd Shepherd mix who is house- and crate-trained. Louise had a rough start in life, but it’s clear to the shelter that her motto is, “If life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” This 65-pound pup arrived at To Love a Canine with a wrist full of buckshot, heartworms and expecting a litter. Over the past year, she’s seen her pups grow into wonderful companion dogs, who now have homes of their own. In that time, Louise received the healthcare she needed. In addition to being treated for heartworm, Louise also had her leg amputated. She has rebounded and gets around well.

Louise relishes being outdoors—whether just lazing around in the grass and enjoying good weather or taking a long walk. This pup enjoys the company of calm male dogs of similar size, but she isn’t a fan of smaller or energetic dogs. She loves to snuggle and will be a wonderful companion to a family with older children.
