Three-quarters of Vermont is covered with forests, including the highest percentage of maple trees in the country, making for some truly fabulous foliage sightings. From late September through mid-October, just about every country road—especially Routes 100 and 7—is fully ablaze in color. The hills of Central Vermont retain their majestic, multihued beauty until late October.
