Tarrytown House Estate

Tarrytown, N.Y.

Westchester County, N.Y., has long been a favorite destination for the rich and famous. Set on 26 stunning acres along the Hudson River, Tarrytown House Estate’s two 19th-century mansions once belonged to B&O Railroad executive Thomas M. King, American Tobacco Company founder William R. Harris, and diplomat Joseph Drexel Biddle Jr. and his heiress wife, Mary Duke Biddle. A popular place for conventions, weddings and other events, the property recently underwent a $15 million refresh.

THE LUSH LIFE: Built around 1840, the King Mansion has 10 rooms furnished in Georgian-era style. More than 200 other rooms and suites feature marble baths and custom millwork. The mansion’s Goosefeather restaurant was named one of the top 20 restaurants in the country by Esquire magazine last year. Guests can also enjoy celebrity chef Dale Talde’s unique take on traditional Cantonese cuisine with a special in-room dining menu. The pet-friendly estate offers numerous amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools.

RATES: $161-$212.
