The scoop: Stone Ridge is located on a 10-acre working horse farm in a converted 1818 barn once owned by author Pearl S. Buck. Inside, original hand-hewn barn beams, plank floors, stone walls and antique furnishings create a rustic warmth. It’s off the beaten path, yet close to Bucks County’s historic and recreational areas.

Amenities: Outdoor swimming pool; full country breakfast with overnight stay.

Don’t miss: Stone Ridge Farm’s “Horseback Riding Adventure” for two includes a trot around the lake at Nockamixon State Park and dinner with wine at Washington House restaurant in Sellersville ($325/weekday, $530/two nights on weekends).
