Avalon and Ocean City

Cape May

There’s a lot of mystery when it comes to the history of Cape May. Embark on a Voices From Beyond House Tour at the 1879 Emlen Physick House, where you’ll hear actual EVPs (electronic voice phenomena) recorded by tour guides and staff at the estate. Ocean City

July–Aug. 7, Wednesdays Are Wacky in Ocean City, with a pie-eating contest, a Christmas celebration, sculpting with saltwater taffy and more. Free. Ocean City Music Pier, (609) 399-1412.

Every Tuesday evening in July and August is Mummers Night, when these flamboyant Philly performers bring their extravagant costumes and elaborate dance moves to Ocean City’s boardwalk. 6th-14th streets, (609) 399-1412.

Taught by women for girls ages 6 and up, two-hour skateboard clinics will be held on July 14 and Aug. 11 at the Ocean City Skatepark. Bring your own skateboard and safety equipment. $50. 5th Street and Asbury Avenue, (609) 525-9304.

Sea Isle City
