Trinity Presbyterian Church of Berwyn Day of Service

If your work or a prior commitment doesn’t allow you off on MLK Day, Berwyn’s Trinity Presbyterian Church hosts its day of service on Saturday, January 18. Beginning at 10 a.m., volunteers will help out at the Repair Cafe, restoring broken items from locals around the neighborhood. Also at 10 a.m. is the food pantry drive, during which participants collect and organize donations at the church. Finally, from noon to 2 p.m., volunteers will build hygiene kits for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA), which provides financial support for individuals in the wake of local natural disasters.
Chester Children’s Chorus Martin Luther King, Jr. Concert

The Chester County Children’s Chorus hosts a free concert on the Sunday evening before MLK Day. Over 100 children from around the county honor the civil rights leader with a powerful tribute featuring the debut of “If You Knew,” an original piece by John Alston. The show starts at 4 p.m. at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church.
MLK Day of Service Free Market

This unique event occurs in two parts. The first begins at noon on Sunday, when locals can drop off gently used household items at Manoa Church Fellowship Hall. Then from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, all community members are welcome to stop by at the free market, where donations have been sorted and are available to all patrons free of charge. Following the market, any leftover items will be donated to Foster Hope of Delaware County, Thrift & Thrive (formerly Nana’s Attic) and Grands Stepping Up.
MLK Day of Edible Crafts

If your little ones aren’t quite old enough for a full day of service, this edible crafts art project is the perfect way to spend the morning. From 10 a.m. to noon at the Candy Lab, guests will make eight to 10 creations out of candy, fruit and veggies while enjoying other fun candy-themed games.
Upper Merion Martin Luther King Community Day of Service In-Person

Upper Merion Township Library partners with Girl Scout Rebecca Montich and Girl Scout Troop 7208 for their 2025 day of service. Taking place at Freedom Hall in the Upper Merion Township Building, families can partake in community service activities and a volunteer fair during which teens and adults can learn about local opportunities to help regional organizations.
Cradles to Crayons MLK Day Donation Drive

Philadelphia’s Cradles to Crayons branch hosts a massive donation drive on MLK Day. Asking for clothing, coats and shoes at eight drop-off locations around the Main Line region, plus 11 more spots around the metropolitan area, this drive’s reach means there’s sure to be a chance to help out within a short drive of your house. 8th Annual MLK Clothing Drive Fundraiser

Whitemarsh Township runs its eighth Annual MLK Clothing Drive Fundraiser this week through January 23. Up until that date, locals can drop off any wearable items at Cedar Grove Barn. All proceeds support the Colonial Neighborhood Council and Whitemarsh Township Day 2025.
