Where to Go Ice Skating Around the Philly Suburbs This Winter

There are plenty of local rinks where you can lace up your skates for ice skating throughout the Main Line region.

Ice skating is the quintessential winter activity, and the western suburbs are home to plenty of skating rinks. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned skater, make sure you get out on the ice at some point this season!

This Delaware County spot is perfect for a night out, with music, festive lighting, food and beverages and heated hospitality tents. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association, so you can skate for a good cause.

Haverford Skatium

1018 Darby Rd., Havertown

Check the Haverford Skatium’s website for designated public skating times. The rink also offers clinics where you can learn how to skate.

Ice Line Quad Rinks

700 Lawrence Dr., West Chester

This indoor rink is the perfect date night or family fun outing. Public skating is available on the weekends, and a pub within the building offers an extensive menu for dining before or after your session.

Oaks Center Ice

100 Pennco Rd., Oaks

Public skating is offered here several days a week, and metal skate trainer bars are available to assist children under the age of eight. For more serious athletics, public hockey for adults and kids is also available.

Philadelphia Skating Club & Humane Society

220 Holland Ave., Ardmore

Step onto the ice on Friday evenings or Sunday afternoons at this rink’s public skate sessions. Instructional programs are available, and memberships can be purchased for the winter season.

Winter Park at the Creamery

401 Birch St., Kennett Square

Through March, the Creamery of Kennett Square adds an ice rink to its winter activities lineup. The rink is made of Glice, a form of eco-friendly, synthetic ice.

Power Play Rinks

This family-friendly rink hosts public skating throughout the winter months. Skating lessons are available, with a specialized program for adults and teens over the age of 14.

Springfield Ice Skating Rink

400 W Sproul Rd., Springfield

On Friday and Saturday nights or Sunday afternoons, you can skate freely or with a skating aid at this Delaware County rink.

PNY Sports Arena

1646 West Chester Pke., West Chester

At this West Chester rink, you can step out onto the ice or cheer your friends and family on from the club box lounge.
