Menorah lightings, a latke cooking class and a car parade are some of the ways our region is celebrating the Jewish holiday this year.
The Main Line is hosting a number of fun events to celebrate the Festival of Lights this year, and there’ll be plenty of traditional latkes to go around!

From December 18 through January 1, the rowing clubs that line the banks of the Schuylkill River light up in celebration of all different holidays, including Hanukkah.

Chanukah at the CourthouseÂ
The Chester County Chabad Lubavitch is kicking off the first night of Hanukkah at the historic Chester County Courthouse with a public menorah lighting at 4:30 p.m. on December 18. Music, donuts, latkes, hot drinks, crafts and more are set to make for a fun evening.

Celebrate at Wynnewood Lanes on December 18 with unlimited bowling, music, crafts and Chanukah treats from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Step up your latke-making game at this hands-on workshop happening December 12. You’ll walk away with tips for making perfect latkes and knowledge of kashruth (the Jewish dietary laws).

Chanukah Village
Step into a magical Chanukah Village right in Media from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on December 18 for celebratory activities, including donut decorating, candle making, face art and, of course, latkes. The eighth annual Grand Menorah Lighting at the Courthouse will happen at 4:30 p.m., kicking off the first night of Hanukkah.

Sesame Place Menorah Lighting Ceremony

Head to Sesame Place to join your favorite characters as they light the menorah, play a game of dreidel and learn about Hanukkah. They’ll be lighting the menorah at 4:30 p.m. every day from December 18 to 24.

Chanukah Car Menorah Parade
On the third night of Hanukkah, join Chabad of the Main Line at 5:45 p.m. for a menorah parade. Food, activities and the lighting of the menorah will take place following the parade.
