This luxurious Upper Black Eddy B&B sits along the Delaware River and offers stunning views of Bucks County.
Bucks County’s only riverfront inn, Bridgeton House, is an oasis of serenity tucked away about 20 minutes north of New Hope. Built in 1836 as a private residence, it’s maintained its historic architectural details and is furnished in an elegant style. Across the B&B’s vast history, it has spent time as a pool hall, general store, bakery, real estate office and apartments. Purchased in 1981 by Bea and Charles Briggs, they spent over a year gutting interior, uncovering old floorboards and vintage fireplaces, rewiring, plumbing and painting what was to become the now iconic, and entirely unique, Bridgeton House.
Each morning, a basket of fresh-baked breakfast goodies arrives at your door, along with homemade treats for later in the Escape the Ordinary package. Premium rooms and luxury suites have large riverside porches and gas or electric fireplaces; some have jacuzzi tubs. As Bucks County’s only riverfront inn, Bridgeton House on the Delaware River guarantees each stay will be one of a kind.
FINE DINING: Just across the bridge from Bridgeton House, in Milford, NJ, is one of the New Jersey’s finest restaurants, Canal House Station. A two-time James Beard semi-finalist and three-time OpenTable Diners’ Choice winner, this establishment has been lauded by publications from The New York Times to NJ.com and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Opened in 2019 out of an elegantly restored 1870s train station, Canal House Station serves up refined modern American cuisine inspired by local ingredients from Bucks and Hunterdon Counties. Amid a charming, nostalgic ambience, try caramelized shallot pasta, porchetta style chicken and filet of beef, though we can’t promise the menu will be the same every day.
FREEWHEELING FUN: Take in the scenic beauty of some of Bucks County’s most historic towns on a bike tour with Encore Rides (encorerides.com).
