Firefly Music Festival

Dover International Speedway’s Woodlands will be in full-blown festival mode for Firefly June 14-17. Music fans from all over country will be camping out and generally roughing it to see headliners Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Arctic Monkeys and the Killers, along with a host of other acts. Drive time: 1 hour, 30 minutes.

Mercer Museum

With all there is to see and do in Philadelphia, it’s easy to overlook Mercer Museum. Take a day to discover this wholly unique Bucks County gem, which houses Henry Mercer’s vast collection of outmoded technology—some 30,000 items ranging from hand tools to horse-drawn carriages to a whale boat. There’s also the summer exhibit, Racing: A Need for Speed. And be sure to tour Mercer’s regal early-19th-century home, Fonthill Castle.
