Mercer Museum
Doylestown, Pa. Drive time: 45 minutes.

With all there is to see and do in Philadelphia, it’s easy to overlook Mercer Museum. Take a day to discover this wholly unique Bucks County gem, which houses Henry Mercer’s vast collection of outmoded technology—some 30,000 items ranging from hand tools to horse-drawn carriages to a whale boat.
