N.C. Wyeth: New Perspectives Art Gallery

After attending the Howard Pyle School of Art in Wilmington, Del., renowned artist and illustrator N.C. Wyeth and his wife, Coryln Breenman Bockius, spent most of their time in Chadds Ford. Their time there is reflected in myriad landscapes, portraits and still-lifes, many of which are on view at the Brandywine River Museum of Art’s N.C. Wyeth: New Perspectives.

Roxy Music’s Bryan Ferry at The Met Philadelphia

Bryan Ferry and his influential ’70s art-rock band, Roxy Music, were finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this past spring. And judging by the reunited group’s powerful live performance at the ceremony, its 73-year-old frontman still has plenty of juice left in the tank.
For his latest tour, which brings him to the Met, Ferry is celebrating Roxy Music’s beloved 1982 swan song, Avalon.

Hamilton at Forrest Theatre
Aug. 27-Nov. 17
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway hit, Hamilton, begins its much-anticipated Philadelphia residency this month at the Forrest Theatre. The edgy, wildly popular take on American founding father Alexander Hamilton earned the show a record-setting 16 Tony nominations, of which it won 11.
