Kembrel and Louella Open in Wayne

The two boutiques bring their wares (so beloved elsewhere) to Wayne.

Western Migration

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Kembrel chose the historic Suburban Building in Wayne as the spot for its first store outside Philadelphia. After all, many of the regulars at its two city locations are Main Liners. Started in 2010 by three students at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, Kembrel is defined by its weekly Web-based flash sales, which highlight local and niche designers. Online customers can now pick up items at any of the three Kembrel locales.

134 N. Wayne Ave., Wayne; (866) 219-2196, kembrel.com.

Now Open

Louella owner Maria Delany is all settled in at her new Lancaster Avenue location in Wayne. The cheery space is the work of Villanova designer Barbara Balongue, who’s also behind the fresh looks at 333 Belrose, White Dog Cafe and Valley Forge Flowers. Offerings include resort tunics from Sail to Sable, jewelry by Philadelphia designer John Wind, and Not Your Daughter’s Jeans.
