Black Friday Bonanza

Share

As I write this blog, Johnny Mathis is belting out why it’s the most wonderful time of the year on B101. Yes, ready or not, the holiday season is upon us, and that means it’s time to start shopping, shopping, shopping.

Many of our local retailers are getting in the spirit by offering not-to-be-missed Black Friday specials. So get your to-buy-for lists ready, and head out Friday bright and early. (I have a pretty significant list of things I’m buying for myself started!)

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and Happy Shopping!

For the Fashionistas

Visit Sorella Boutique in Media on both Wednesday, Nov. 25, and Black Friday to receive a coupon for 10, 20 or 30 percent off your entire purchase. Black Friday hours are extended 9 a.m.-8 p.m. 23 E. State St., Media; (610) 566-2393, sorellashop.com.

The early bird does get the sales on Black Friday at Media’s Per Lei Boutique. From 5 to 9 a.m., everything in the store is 40 percent off. Now that’s a sale worth missing a couple of hours of sleep for. If you miss the early-bird sales, however, you don’t entirely miss out—the store reopens at 10 a.m., and everything remains 20 percent off for the rest of the day. 2 E. State St., Media; (610) 566-1254, perleiboutique.com.

At State of Grace in Bryn Mawr, you choose what’s on sale. Shoppers can pick one item for 40 percent off and receive 20 percent off the rest of their purchases. I’m seeing visions of 40-percent-off denim dancing through my head. 1029 W. Lancaster Ave., Bryn Mawr; (610) 525-0100, stateofgraceboutique.com.

The fabulous Gramercy Boutique in Wayne’s Eagle Village Shops is offering a 30-percent discount on its entire fall collection. So now’s the time to pick up that sweater, coat or dress you’ve been eyeing all fall! 503 W. Lancaster Ave., Wayne; (610) 420-3074.

Oh, did I love reading about Heavenly Couture, the latest Main Line boutique to open. Founded by four enterprising sisters ages 14-24, it opened its doors last Saturday. The Brufke sisters of Valley Forge discovered Heavenly Couture this summer when visiting Newport Beach, Calif. The boutique is unique in that everything—jeans, hoodies, dresses, leggings, hats, scarves, jackets and more—is available at the unbelievable price of $17.95 and less. With prices like this, be prepared to leave the store with more than one bag! And to celebrate the opening, the sisters are giving away 100 cotton camisoles to the first shoppers on Black Friday. Paoli Shopping Center, Lower Level, 33 Leopard Road, Paoli.

Posh Collections is saving its holiday discounts until Friday, Dec. 4, during the town’s annual “Christmas in Malvern” festivities. The boutique is celebrating its second anniversary and giving thanks to its shoppers with 15 percent off storewide from 5 to 9 p.m. The Posh ladies will also offer cocktails and hors d’oeuvres—that’s what we call a celebration. 103 E. King St., Malvern; (610) 644-7220, poshcollections.com.

For the Beauty Minded

On Black Friday (and Saturday), Joseph Anthony Retreat Spa and Salon will be in full-festive mode, offering visitors light fare and cocktails from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. while they peruse jewelry from Safian & Rudolph Jewelers, autographed sports memorabilia from King Bee Auctions, and, of course, prepackaged custom hair and skincare products from Joseph Anthony at 20 percent off. Also scheduled both days are appearances by Philadelphia Eagles players, plus exotic cars from Algar Ferrari Maserati on Saturday only. 243 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills; (610) 459-2512, josephanthony.com.

For the Kids

If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind gift for the little ones on your list, head out to the Plymouth Meeting Mall for the Black Friday debut of the Please Touch Museum’s Kids Store. It’s got it all, from Alice in Wonderland tea sets and Statue of Liberty bobbleheads to Centennial history memorabilia and memberships to the popular children’s museum. The Kids Store kiosk features gift certificates and admission tickets to Please Touch, plus T-shirts and other museum-branded merchandise. It’s open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays thru Dec. 20 from noon to 8 p.m. And the Play Patrol will be on-site all four weekends. 500 W. Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting; (610) 825-9351, shopplymouthmeetingmall.com.

For the Shoe Lover

Our Christmas wish came true early this year with the opening of ViVi G. Shoes’ Main Line location. This girly-girl boutique opened this fall in Wayne’s Eagle Village Shops, much to the delight of Main Liners who love, love, love beautiful shoes. In celebration of Black Friday, ViVi G. is offering a special deal at both its locations: Buy any pair of shoes and get the second pair (of equal or lesser value) at 40 percent off.

A violet-suede Rebecca Minkoff bag from the Holiday Collection, available at ViVi G. Shoes.Save the Date: Celebrate with ViVi G. on Dec. 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. as it toasts its new Wayne location. Sip complimentary champagne and enjoy hors d’oeuvres while shopping for fabulous shoes, boots, bags and holiday gifts. Designer Rebecca Minkoff will host a magnificent trunk show featuring her exquisite bags—and you can enter the complimentary raffle to win one! Also, if you spend $250, you’ll receive a fabulous Rebecca Minkoff gift and a beautiful pair of Fleur De Lis earrings—straight from Paris!
