Singled Out

Share

Sometimes it seems as if the entire Main Line is coupled up—or married with kids. But look more closely in the right places, and you’ll discover a considerable number of singles, from job-hunting 20-somethings to socially active retirees. Granted, the Main Line can’t compare to Center City as an eligibles’ playground, but it does offer its own satisfying mix of cultural, dining and entertainment options.

Regardless of all that’s out there, the single life can be frustrating. Forget about finding someone to bring home to Mom and Dad—it’s hard enough landing a respectable date for dinner or a work function. And while Cupid’s arrow may seem all too elusive for many of us, one Main Liner is out to sharpen the little guy’s aim. Berwyn’s Lisa Semerjian has started Main Line Match, the area’s first and only executive matchmaking firm. You can read about her ambitious new enterprise here.

Since launching MLM this past June, Semerjian has been doing all she can to get the word out about her new venture. “Since I’ve announced the business, everyone has asked the same thing: ‘Why has it taken so long for something like this to come along?’” she says. “The best way to get to know someone is to be matched.”

Happily married for 20 years to luxury homebuilder David Semerjian—who, by the way, she was set up with—Semerjian is definitely onto something with MLM. And more importantly, her heart is in the right place.

Meet Semerjian—along with hundreds of local singles—at Main Line Today’s Eligibles Party on Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Radnor Hotel. For more information on the event, click here. We look forward to seeing you there.

ALSO IN THIS ISSUE: With the holidays right around the corner, we asked four in-the-know Main Liners to help out our readers in a pinch. They came up with shopping lists for the men, women, little ones and pets in our lives. We think you’ll love their suggestions. I know I do. Click here for the story.
