Wellness and Edible Gardens
Last year we saw a huge uptick in our client’s needs for gardens that are not just visually beautiful but also inspire the other sense and provide a place for healing. With the pandemic behind us, we have had many client request that their plantings be medicinal or edible as much as possible. Lavander, bee balms, yarrows and sages have all been added to our repertoire of plants that we install on a constant basis. Planting landscapes that our clients can forage from has also been a big trend this year. Adding blueberry shrubs or edible apple trees not just for their beauty but also for their fruit as constant request that we’ve seen this year. We also have been designing for these plants to thrive. The beauty of a berry hedge or row of apple trees mixed with long rows of lavender or herbs bring an added layer or interest and custom design to any landscape.

Following the Rules While Thinking Outside The Box
Working in and around the Main Line, we are all know how each township has different rules when it comes to patios, pools or even just landscape. Our team is well versed in the many different ordinances that each township requires, so we are able to design to those specifications. With that though, we like to think differently about the way the patio can be installed or how the landscape can be exciting! Adding wildflower meadows with lawn pathways, using walkway materials that are considerate pervious while still making them look historic and blend into the Main Line effortlessly are a couple ways that we work with the township and the homeowner to both meet the rules but look timeless.

Paint it Black
We love a flower or a blossom, BUT we also love the understated chicness of just foliage. Ferns, ornamental grasses and cut leaf shrubs mixed together can read as simply stylish landscape. We also love the adding of dark colored foliage. Wide leaf dark hostas, Black Lace Elderberry, Mondo grass and Dark Ruby Nine Bark are some our favorite plants to combine for added pop of sultry color. We truly believe that the foliage and structure of a plan is just as important as the flowers or fall color is produces!
