Eat, Share, Win
Main Line Today is proud to join the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association (PRLA) in Hope for Hospitality, a program aimed at relieving financial hardship facing the industry as a result of COVID-19 restrictions.
To participate, diners purchase a meal from a restaurant in Bucks, Chester, Delaware or Montgomery county. The meal can be dine-in, delivery, or take-out.
When they post about the experience on Facebook, Instagram, and/or Twitter, tag the restaurant and use the hashtag #hopeforhospitalitypa, diners are entered into a weekly drawing to win a $25 American Express gift card.
Each of the four counties chooses one winner per week. The campaign, which began on February 1, continues until March 31.
More information is available at hopeforhospitalitypa.com, which also has lists of local restaurants and posts that can be shared to support local restaurants. “Hope for Hospitality was created to provide much-needed assistance to the restaurants we know and love within our community,” said Ben Fileccia, director of operations and strategy at PRLA. “It’s a win-win for both loyal patrons and restauranteurs. Now more than ever, it’s time to support one another as we push through these challenging times.”
When restaurants began shut down last spring, PRLA, which works to promote, protect, and improve Pennsylvania’s hospitality and tourism industries, launched the Hospitality Assistance Response of Pennsylvania (HARP) to support restaurant industry workers experiencing economic hardship due to the pandemic.
The program, which is funded by the private, community, and individual donations, provides emergency funding to hospitality workers. The one-time grants are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis and rely on the availability of funds. HARP received overwhelming interest from restaurant workers in need of financial assistance. The program is accepting donations which can be made on the website parelief.org. HARP reached its fundraising goal of $250,000 last fall and has raised 80 percent of its new goal of $500,000.
