Too often, medical care is divided into separate boxes. Navigating appointments with various providers can be complex and confusing. Gatekeepers are impersonal and don’t always give correct information. You often feel like you’re going in circles just trying to get an appointment. CLIMB Health & Wellness is here to change all of that.
Recognizing a need for a more comprehensive and accessible approach to health and wellness, longtime friends Dr. Jessie Fields and Amy Kempe founded CLIMB Health & Wellness. CLIMB is a membership-based concierge healthcare option. Concierge care differs from traditional care because it focuses more on the patient experience. Need to be seen that day? No problem! Want to talk to your doctor directly? She’s available when you call.
Before joining forces, the two women had decades of experience between them. Dr. Fields, a board-certified internist and NASM-certified personal trainer, worked as a primary care physician in a big system for a decade. Ms. Kempe is an experienced mental health therapist who had her own private practice for years, and a published author on the subject of narcissistic abuse.
It was their time in the traditional healthcare industry that led Fields and Kempe to found CLIMB – a concierge care model with a twist. They wanted to create a healthcare option that breaks down the barriers, allowing people access to comprehensive, personal, customizable care. The foundation of CLIMB is that physical health, mental health, nutrition, and exercise intertwine, and real healthcare considers the whole person. The focus is on supporting the individual in achieving optimal health.
Traditional medical care has changed so much in recent years that providers are often only able to address one issue at a time. The goal of the CLIMB team is to create an environment where people are given the time and space to feel comfortable discussing all aspects of their health. The long-term relationship and high quality, trusted, comprehensive care make the difference.
Their Lafayette Hill office, only 15 minutes from Villanova, is equipped to handle preventative care, chronic disease management, and sick and acute care visits – and telehealth is available as well. ”We’ve been open for 18 months and have repeatedly seen the positive impact of our hands-on approach to care. Our patients tell us they are happy and thriving, physically and mentally, in ways they haven’t been able to before. They tell us they have never been cared for like this in the past,” Dr. Fields added.
In addition to Fields and Kempe, the team includes an ever-expanding group of licensed therapists, registered dietitians, certified personal trainers, and certified Pilates and yoga instructors. Having this diverse wellness team allows CLIMB to offer added services such as mental health sessions, nutrition seminars, personal training, and daily fitness classes in their in-house gym, and their tiered membership options allow you to choose the services that are right for you. Thus, members have personalized, cohesive care and treatment within CLIMB but also with outside providers. Coordination with pharmacies is managed for you. Dr. Fields coordinates care with specialists throughout the community, from chiropractors to physical therapists and cardiologists to endocrinologists at the larger hospital systems.
CLIMB helps people take control of their health and be active participants in protecting and improving their well-being. “Our goal is to create a healthcare environment without the burdens and the hierarchy. We strive for accessibility to fully support our members and build community,” Dr. Fields says.
“We want to help our members not only achieve their physical, emotional, and social wellness goals but to do it in a way that makes them feel like part of the team,” Kempe added. “No patient should feel like a bystander or unable to ask questions.”
For Fields and Kempe, CLIMB represents the future of healthcare and medicine. They truly are redefining primary care and hope that rather than be a unique option, they’re at the forefront of changing how we, as a society, view health and medicine.
