Dr. Matthew Fogg Makes Availability a Priority

Director of Food Allergy Treatment boasts eight locations.

Matthew Fogg, MD, MA is a Physician and Director with Allergy & Asthma Specialists, PC a group practice with eight locations in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs. He is the Director of Food Allergy Treatment.  He has practiced as a Board Certified Allergist/Immunologist since 2004.

“Although I love to care for patients with allergic rhinitis, asthma, eczema, and immunologic diseases, my particular area of interest and expertise is the treatment of food allergies. As the Director of Food Allergy Treatment at Allergy and Asthma Specialists, I am proud that we are the first allergists in the area to offer peanut sublingual immunotherapy to our patients. This procedure can afford peanut allergic patients a level of protection from accidental exposure that can significantly decrease their (and their family’s) anxiety about peanut allergy. I frequently perform oral food challenges to see if our patients are outgrowing their food allergies,” says Dr. Fogg.

Dr. Fogg began his training with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.  Dr. Fogg received his Medical Degree from New York University School of Medicine and a Masters of Arts degree from New York University in Medical Ethics and Health Care Policy. He continued his training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where he completed a Pediatric Residency and a Fellowship in adult and pediatric Allergy and Immunology. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.

Dr. Fogg is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy & Immunology. He is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Pennsylvania Allergy and Asthma Association, and the Philadelphia Allergy Society.

He is involved in numerous research studies and has authored articles published in peer review journals including the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

Dr. Fogg says,“I strive to provide compassionate and outstanding care for all allergic and immunologic diseases. I do my best to create a partnership with those I care for that works to optimize their results. It is really important to understand the patient and their preferences and desires so that we can come up with a treatment plan that is effective and consistent with the patient’s world view. When caring for patients, I often ask myself, “what would I recommend if this patient was a member of my family?”

Dr. Fogg sees patients of all ages in the Center City Philadelphia, and Collegeville locations.
