On Jan. 11, Yangming Restaurant in Bryn Mawr will host Albertson’s Cooking School’s wine pairing dinner. The special event’s theme is “The Flavors of Taiwan” and will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a champagne reception, followed by a multi-course pairing dinner at 7 p.m.
Taiwan’s intricate and aromatic cuisine will take center stage as Yangming’s chefs take guests on a culinary adventure through the island nation.
Jonathan Newman of Newman Wine and Spirits, a renowned wine connoisseur and former chairman of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, will pair the evening’s courses with his choice of excellent wines available at state stores.
“I grew up in Taiwan and these are the flavors I grew up with,” says Yangming owner Michael Wei. “My family dinners had these ingredients and spices which make the cuisine of my ancestral homeland unique and special.”
Albertson’s Cooking School is equally excited. “This annual wine pairing dinner always receives countless enthusiastic rave reviews,” says Charlotte Ann Albertson.
The Flavors of Taiwan dinner is $115 per person and includes a champagne reception, five course dinner, wines, and tax and gratuity.
