The Philadelphia Flower Show kicks off on Saturday, Feb. 28, just in time to give us all that breath of spring we’ve been craving. While you’re visiting the world’s oldest and largest indoor flower show—this year with the theme “Lights, Camera, BLOOM!”—be sure to take a break from the acres of gorgeous floral designs, fantastic shopping and lectures for a menu of free wine tastings, the PHS Pop Up Beer Garden and a serene Garden Tea.
In addition, each day visitors are invited to the Garden to Table Studio for free half-hour cooking demonstrations by local and celebrity chefs. On the roster: Chef Caitlin Mateo of Square 1682, Chef Hugh Moran of Buddakan, Chef Amy Edelman of Night Kitchen Bakery, QVC’s Chef David Venable, PBS’s Chef Ian Knauer and many more. Demos, to be held daily at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., can be found on the Flower Show floor in the rear of Hall B.
Looking for even more food-filled fun while attending the show? Consider booking a Flower Show Brunch Cruise on the Spirit of Philadelphia. The first brunch cruise will be held on Sunday, March 1, with another taking place the following Sunday, March 8. Spirit Cruises is also offering an Early Bird Dinner Cruise on Saturday, March 7. Show your PHS Philadelphia Flower Show ticket or confirmation to your server to receive a complimentary premium drink! Find out more on the Spirit Cruises’ website.
Tickets for the Philadelphia Flower Show, available online, support the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, which motivates people to improve their quality of life and create a sense of community through horticulture. PHS is also a partner in the Plant One Million and City Harvest campaigns.
