'Vintage Now' in Norristown Offers Classic Treasures to Main Line Decorators

Scoping out estate sales, antique shops and auctions, a pair of sisters-in-law build their business out of unique home décor and furnishings.

Among Main Liners, the trend of snubbing the new in favor of vintage home furnishings and décor is showing no signs of slowing. Thanks to Vintage Now, shoppers have yet another place to feed their fix. Sisters-in-law Kerri Farragut and Amy Tyrrell are the two behind this enormous converted space inside a former Norristown pasta factory.

The Vintage Now showroom.Open since May, it’s receiving plenty of positive buzz among local interior designers and homeowners alike, thanks to its fantastic selection. The inventory is arranged vignette style to help customers visualize how the pieces might work in their homes. “My taste is more eclectic, and Amy’s leans more traditional,” says Farragut.

The duo travels to estate sales, antique shops and auctions for their treasures. On a recent outing, they scored a set of Lucite barstools, an antique bar-height altar table, a pair of brass giraffes, and a ceramic Victorian umbrella stand. Farragut’s favorite recent find? “Two mid-century pottery lamps with seagrass drum shades,” she says. “They’ll be perfect in someone’s Shore house.”
