Vecchia Pizzeria Brings Naples to the Main Line

PLUS: The Ardmore Beer Shoppe open its doors, the Atlantic City Food and Wine Festival arrives at Harrah’s, and more.

Perfect Pies

In Naples, Italy, there are laws protecting pizza ovens and recipes. Frank Nattle is serious about pizza, too. At his Vecchia Pizzeria, a new authentic Neapolitan pizzeria in Phoenixville, the oven was made of volcanic brick and stone from Mount Vesuvius. Two stonemasons were flown over from Italy to complete the project—just one of eight in the country. And his pizza recipe is every bit as true to Naples. Speaking of pizza, Jules Thin Crust is the name of Wayne’s new organic, locally sourced pizzeria. It’s Jules’ fourth Pennsylvania location.

What’s Brewing?

Pete Vitale’s new Ardmore Beer Shoppe offers hundreds of craft and specialty beers, Chicago-style hotdogs, and salumi and cheese from Di Bruno Bros. There’s even a bar and some tables for lingering.

Shore Bound

You should be on the weekend of July 26. The Atlantic City Food and Wine Festival features celebrity chefs, parties, events and food (of course). To learn more, visit harrahs.com/acfoodandwine.
