Up to Eleven Celebrates Coffee and Bike Culture in Ardmore

The Main Line’s first-ever coffee shop and electronic bike store hybrid welcomes Philadelphia-area residents for java and cycling talk.

Have you ever wanted to buy a coffee and shop for a bike in the same store? Up to Eleven is a one-of-a-kind shop created by Laura Fay, who co-founded Separist Beer Project on East Passyunk’s Restaurant Row. The female-owned business serves up two things Fay is passionate about in one welcoming space.

“My past years in the hospitality industry have given me the opportunity to learn that my passion is creating spaces for customers to gather and bond over a good something to eat or drink,” Fay notes.

The menu at Up to Eleven includes two popular names in the Main Line food and drink industry, Kismet Bagels and Reanimator Coffee. With standard counter service, the shop has indoor and outdoor seating for around 30 people. It also sells a complete line of electric bikes with a knowledgeable salesperson to help customers find their perfect bike. The goal for this space is to welcome people who may not be expert cyclists to learn more about electric bikes without the intimidation.

Up to Eleven’s coffee shop hours are 7 a.m.-3 p.m seven days a week, and the e-bike shop’s hours are 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.

“I have been a very casual cyclist for years and have always loved the culture around bikes, that they are green transportation, a great way to get somewhere and see things along the way, a way to be outside and a great way for people to socialize and interact,” Fay explains. Her choice of e-bikes also came from the factor of inclusion because they are more accessible to everyone, especially for riding longer distances. E-bikes eliminate the sweat, exertion and often required wardrobe change after a ride.

Fay has a passion for the food and beverage industry, so this very well may not be her last project around Philadelphia’s western suburbs. Check out Up to Eleven’s website to learn more.
