Two New Reasons to Visit Suburban Square

Suburban Collectiv and Pilot & Powell open pop-ups in Ardmore.

Suburban Square is popping with pop-ups. Among the latest is Suburban Collectiv, a brick-and-mortar collaboration engineered by Main Line fashion A-listers including Moira Anne jewelry, denim diva CALdesign, sweater sensation Islefield and eyewear maker Designs by Madison Taylor, along with athleisure brand Addison Bay, Carrie Dunham handbags, and home décor and accessories from W&W Collection and the Calvert Collection.

With venues shuttered or greatly limited due to COVID-19 regulations, these entrepreneurs banded together to create the co-op. “It’s a place where we can showcase new and undiscovered talent from our Main Line community,” says Islefield’s Rachel Skyman. “In these unusual times, this shop gives us an opportunity to sell beautiful fashion and home goods.”

Suburban Collectiv is open through December in the former Gilbert & Evans next to the Gap (92 Coulter Ave., Ardmore, (215) 410-6834, @suburbancollectiv).

The boutique sells clothing, shoes, bags and accessories from upscale designers like Isabel Marant, Tibi and Proenza Schouler, plus emerging brands Rosie Assoulin, Stine Goya and Lizzie Fortunato. Co-owner Coeli Hilferty Boron describes Pilot & Powell as “a carefully curated edit of approachable luxury and modern classics.”
