Traditionally Current

Wayne is an up-to-date, steeped-in-tradition sort of place.

Restaurants, from the casual to the more formal, suit every palate. A new addition this year was Cornerstone Cheese & Charcuterie, with its chef’s bar filled nearly every night with diners enjoying house-specialty cheeses, charcuterie and, oh, those oysters! Paola’s and Ardé Osteria bring the taste of Italy to Wayne. Head to Margaret Kuo’s for Asian flavors, and to Paramour for that special-occasion dinner. Much like the comfort food served at Christopher’s, Teresa’s Next Door and Great American Pub, there is a comfort in seeing all the people you know in the dining room.

In addition to fashion and gift boutiques like Coco Blu and bellaDONNA, Wayne is a destination for home design. From upscale consignment at The Velvet Shoestring to upholstery, furniture and rugs at Aubusson Home, your home will be outfitted to suit your style. For a final touch, The Little House Shop has everything to complete the look.

Newest arrival Main Point Books (pictured) on North Wayne Avenue, promises to be a place for the whole family to enjoy. And celebrating 30 years in Wayne, the Gap started on the corner of South Wayne and Lancaster avenue as a welcome addition for those kids grabbing what they need for their back-to-school looks. Our sweet friends at Aux Petits Delices have also been here 30 years, serving French confections and award-winning cakes.

Wayne is proud to be home to so many family- owned businesses, including Do It Best Hardware, Dayton Lock Company, Keith Martin Electric and Epps Plumbing and Heating. Wayne Sporting Goods has been here over 60 years, while it’s been more than 75 for D’Amicantonio & Sons and Cowan’s Flowers.

The only B&B on the Main Line, Wayne Bed & Breakfast Inn offers guests a place to find some privacy in a historic home. It’s the perfect base from which to head off and explore the treasures of Chanticleer Garden and the Wayne Art Center.

Businesses working with businesses to serve each other, and nonprofits serving the community, are what make Wayne such a special place to live and work. Check out our list of members—and remember to keep it local!
