“Taming Toys” and “Photo Organizing Solutions” are among the topics tackled in the two-hour workshops offered by Bryn Mawr’s Square One Organizing. And Square One’s Lauren Sullivan and Jennifer Herdler say there’s no better time than less-hectic months like January and February to set an organization plan in motion. “There are different levels and tiers of organization for everyone,” says Sullivan. “It’s about being organized enough so you’re functional and efficient.”
To solve more common clutter dilemmas, Sullivan and Herdler offer these tips:
• Children’s artwork and projects: Once they’re off the refrigerator, store them in a file box—one for each child.
• Clothes: When it comes to messy closets, take it one room at a time to alleviate stress.
• Scheduling: Calendars and schedules should be accessible to every member of the family—and electronic, if possible.
• Paper: Have a recycling bin or paper shredder handy for junk mail. A sorter for bills is also a must.
