Bryn Mawr Hospital Thrift Shop

804 County Line Rd., Bryn Mawr


Benefiting Bryn Mawr Hospital as part of the Main Line Health network, this outlet has friendly hours and is open Monday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Alongside its clothing offerings, the shop also sells furniture, rugs, books and some jewelry.

Junior League Thrift Shop

25 W Lancaster Ave., Ardmore


A four-time winner of Main Line Today’s best thrift shop award dating all the way back to 2004, Junior League stocks clothing, handbags, shoes, jewelry, books and toys, with wide community initiatives like Empowering You Health Fair, Kids in the Kitchen and Food to Families.

Penny Wise Thrift Shop

57 Lancaster Ave., Ardmore


This shop is owned and operated by the Women’s Board of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Open six days a week, from Monday to Saturday, Penny Wise has raised over $3 million in support of patient care projects for the hospital.

Nana’s Attic Thrift Store

1991 Sproul Rd., Broomall

Nana’s Attic has been in operation since 2002 as a source of income for the Domestic Abuse Project. This quaint shop in Broomall sells everything from paintings to fishing rods and used electronics to shoes. Of course, it also has a fine selection of clothing, too.

Saint James Thrift Shop

409 E Lancaster Ave., Downingtown

Established all the way back in 1977 to help those in the Downingtown community with secondhand clothes, Saint James is still going strong 56 years later. An outreach as part of St. James’ Episcopal Church, the shop has been managed by the same person for the last 37 years. Now restricted to limited hours, Saint James is open 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Saint Alban’s Thrift Shop

3625 Chapel Rd., Newtown Square


The first thing you’ll notice about Saint Alban’s is its very limited hours. Their fall hours are restricted to Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., so make sure to get in while you can. This church-based thrift shop is staffed by volunteers, and proceeds are distributed back into the community.

Westminster Thrift Shop

543-545 E Gay St., West Chester

Westminster Thrift Shop is a part of Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Chester and now in its 33rd season. Though the shop is currently closed through Sept. 4, expect a host of new items upon its reopening. Westminster restocks daily, and you’re sure to find something special among the host of jewelry, paintings, clothing and accessories.
