After almost 20 years in the business, Half Moon Restaurant & Saloon will be serving its last bison burger and famous crab nachos. Owners Scott and Kristin Hammond are closing the doors on Saturday, March 11.
After some renovations in March and April, Newark’s Grain Craft Bar & Kitchen will take over the space. Look for a menu featuring shareable plates like beer cheese fondue, nachos, wings and flatbreads in addition to salads, burgers and entrees like fish tacos and short rib ravioli.
Malvern
Chef Joe Solar recently debuted The Greyhound Cafe in the Great Valley Shopping Center. The Italian and Mexican eatery offers many vegetarian and vegan dishes, and it’s wood-burning oven cranks out several notable pizzas.
Highlights from the Mexican side of the menu include fish tacos, black bean and corn chimichangas and grilled enchiladas. Italian dishes include rigatoni and sausage fra diablo, grilled or fried eggplant Parmigiana and vegetarian calzone with broccoli, tomato, ricotta and mozzarella cheese.
Exton
Suburban, a farm-to-table-focused restaurant and beer garden, opened on Thursday, March 2 in Eagleview Town Center. Chef Eric Yost has an extensive culinary résumé, including stints at the Gables at Chadds Ford, White Dog Cafe and Wyebrook Farm. The bar features 24 taps of all-Pennsylvania beer and spirits from local distillers. The restaurant is split in two sides—a casual, family-friendly beer garden complete with picnic tables and an outdoor fire pit and the Farmer’s Room, which serves as a more upscale menu during dinner only. For now, only the beer garden side is open with the Farmer’s Room opening soon.

Wayne
Devon natives Kevin and Catherina Huang opened DanDan in Rittenhouse Square in 2015, and we’ve been fans ever since. Now, the couple will come a bit closer to home with the opening of a second location of their popular restaurant. DanDan will take up residence in the former home of Ella’s American Bistro in Wayne. The new DanDan will be much larger than the city location and will have a private dining room and ample free parking.
Conshohocken
Snap Custom Pizza has been expanding throughout the Main Line and beyond. Now, it will open at a new spot in Conshohocken in Table Market Fresh Café’s former digs. The made-from-scratch pizza spot offers both traditional and gluten-free pizza, salads, dessert and soft drinks. The items are made to order in front of the customer with one price, allowing diners to choose as many toppings as they want. This will be Snap’s sixth location.
