Art in the Abbey

Anyone looking to liven up a few walls and empty corners take note: The Daylesford Abbey Art Show and Sale celebrates its 40th anniversary this month, making it one of the oldest and largest events of its kind in the area. More than 95 juried artists will exhibit work ranging from sculpture and stained glass to pottery, mixed media and more. Local painter Ray Schorle is this year’s featured artist. His traditional oils on linen canvas follow the techniques of the masters.
The opening reception is 3-6 p.m. Oct. 13; tickets are $30. The show opens to the public Oct. 14 and runs through Oct. 28. Hours are noon-4 p.m.; noon-8 p.m. Oct. 17 and 24.
