O’Gara is particularly excited to offer sous chefs an opportunity to shine. “From my years in professional kitchens, I know that it can be frustrating to be a sous chef,” she shares. “They never quite have complete control over the menu. All successful chefs were sous chefs at some point. I really hope to find some people who are passionate about their culinary vision and confident that they can fill a room. There is a lot of opportunity, since these are one-night events.”
She continues, “If any interested chefs are reading this, feel free to reach out to me at features@tabletoursbytown.com.”
Why did she decide to lay down some roots at Kettle? Katie says, “I’ve loved Kettle since it opened. It has a welcoming, understated chic atmosphere, and the menu is great. The owner, Sarah Brautigan, is so friendly and such a hard worker. We plan on creating a more intimate, warm atmosphere for these nighttime events, with tablecloths, candles and curtains. We’ll use the current seating arrangement, as well as communal tables for some events.”
