Table 11 Opens in Media

The new BYOB mixes European cuisine with American staples.

In Media, the former Mrs. Marty’s Deli has undergone a refreshing overhaul to become Table 11, a casual, comfy BYOB fit for the most ferocious foodies. A French transplant, chef Gilles Moret focuses on Spanish, Mediterranean, French and American fare. We paired Paella Española—loaded with clams, mussels, sausage and crisp shrimp— with a safe but solid 2014 Chateau Ste. Michelle Merlot from Washington.

Aromas of black cherry, spice and smoke merge with a splash of syrah that adds a depth of black-raspberry flavor and supple texture. A layered Spanish Rioja would’ve also worked well. House-made desserts include saffron-and-chocolate pot de crème, crêpes soufflé with Grand Marnier, and an ice cream of the day—caramelized apple with roasted jalapeño pepper on our visit.
