As if the Main Line and its surrounding suburbs needed another artisan pizza shop to frequent (wait—we always do!), the South Florida-based Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza unveiled its newest location in Exton on Wed., Dec. 4.
As the fifth Philadelphia area pizzeria of Anthony’s, with sister stops including those in Wayne and Horsham, the concept invades Fairfield Place Shopping Center along East Swedesford Road. Specializing in artisan pies prepped in an 800-degree coal burning oven, guests can expect a mix of classic and inventive combinations. Toppings layered on the fresh-daily, stretched-to-order dough range from Italian plum tomatoes, prosciutto, and baby meatballs, to roasted cauliflower, anchovies, long hot peppers, arugula, and much more.
In addition to its heavy pizza focus, expect upscale comfort food dishes like coal oven-roasted chicken wings, calzones, hearty sandwiches like roast beef on foccacia, and traditional Italian staples including meatballs with ricotta cheese and eggplant parmesan. A full bar adds to the high-energy atmosphere.
Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza arrives backed by NFL Hall of Fame legend Dan Marino, who acts as one of the chain’s key partners alongside founder Anthony Bruno. Hours of operation are as follows: Sun.–Thurs., 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m.; Fri.–Sat., 11:30 a.m.–11 p.m. Dine in and carry out are available; phone: (610) 594-1900. Visit acfp.com.
