Creating Camelot: The Kennedy Photography of Jacques Lowe
Thru Sept. 7 at the National Constitution Center
Recommended by Hobart Rowland
As someone who only recently experienced the sobering revelations of the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in Dallas, this celebration of John F. Kennedy’s life—rather than his horrific and controversial death—has a particular resonance. Lowe was JFK’s personal photographer from 1958 through his early White House years. A touch-screen monitor allows you to view more than 24 of Lowe’s original contact sheets, which include the marks to show which images he selected for publication in newspapers and magazines. There’s also a revealing film about Lowe and the Kennedy family. Visit constitutioncenter.org.
