Staff Picks: “The River of No Return,” Bee Ridgway

Bethany Schneider is a literature professor at Bryn Mawr College. But as Bee Ridgway, she has crafted an imaginative debut novel in which Nick Davenant and Julia Percy seek to unravel the truth behind a secret society that controls the flow of time. The book contains several hidden—and obvious—references to the college. Inspiration, too, came from her efforts to have students surrender to old eras, books and rhythms of prose.
